Hola From the Rica! 

JK i still have 3 1/2 weeks in this crazy place. Nah, jk its good here. AND I've got another angel walking with me and helping me out here, Sorry to hear about G-ma Trimmer, I love you all and I Pray for you always!! 

So how I was telling y'all about the investigator Pedro last week, we committed him to Baptism. Yeah, and now he's our teacher. hahaha but really, even though its not real, the spirit is, and we are teaching people, not lessons. So as long as we remember that, the gift of tongues will make us throw up spanish. hahaha Sorry about my bad grammar and punctuation and such, I went to Preston High School. hahaha ;) 

So i didnt realize how much of going to the temple has such an impact on daily life. I MISS IT. once a week isnt enough!! JAKEY GETS HOME TODAY EVERYBODY!!!!! Like honestly I cannot wait for him to show up. Like sundays around 3:15 at the provo temple, or 1:20 on wednesdays... (hint hint) ;) 

So ya know how im like really crazy and super funny and super humble about it? yeah, my district thinks so too. hhaha WE LOVE EACH OTHER SO MUCH!!! honestly they're amazing and we have so much fun. Right when the clock hits 9:02 PM Everybody goes CRAY CRAY. its insane and we cant stop laughing. haha i love it. We have hermana starke who is from cali and she is the sweetest person ever! she gives me food ;) Then hermana mcArthur who is from west jordan, shes a ginger. We get along though..... haha jk no she is so sweet! hahaha then there is elder Chamberlain, he is from layton and probably the most humble person ever he plays soccer.. haha elder marshall is from vernal and such a gentleman, he takes my tray after im done eating. hes our district leader. Elder Blegen is from redmond washington, HE IS HAYDEN. no joke, we get along (or dont) so well and all his personality is hayden straight up, i love him. haha elder hulsey is from arizona somewhere. Elder zuniga is from gilbert az and hes half mexican. and plays soccer too so we get along. hes so sweet. And elder Wintch is from idaho falls. hes sooooo funny i cant stand it. 

So we taught something that is called TRC. teaching resource center. people from THE REAL WORLD come in and we just teach them. they are volunteers and they are so nice and so helpful and dont critisize our spanish. hahaha 

Elder Scott came yesterday for a Devo. OH MY GOODNESS. Answer to my prayers. I was getting so frusterated with spanish and we were reading from the spanish BOM and i hated it. and i was getting angered. Elder Scott just popped right up and was like PRAY. God is here for you, and everyone learning a language, he will make it easy for you. and this mission will effect your life forever and make you a better mom and wife. So im like boom, im where im suppose to be, and i love spanish now. ok thats a lie, but its gonna be something i love :) as soon as i can master it. haha Our whole district cried last night during our testimony meeting. we're cute, and im a baby. So hermana starke said closing prayer in spanish on sunday for sacrament meeting, and she said thanks for the oppritunity to take the priesthood... not the sarcrament. hahaha super funny. esta bien cause we're learning. OH SHARP FAMILY. Josh Wadsworth was my teacher the other day. funny huh?? 

Soooo we get 4 new roommates today, cause our other 3 left for the field, so that was sad. For our service projects on fridays, we clean one of the girls dorms... its gross. I never want to have girls... ever. haha chiste, its just gross.. 

Its crazy how awful the world is getting! im glad i dont have to worry about that. or the cold in the Rica. haha as long as im doing the Lords work, i'll be blessed and protected. soooo my favorite scripture story is nephi building a boat. 1 nephi 17 verses 50-51 are my fav. read it, love it, do it. ;)

For the next couple weeks we are teaching 2 investigators. so i'll let you know how that goes. nothing too exciting to say.. i'll send pics quick in a new email.

Hermana Ginger's first week!

HEY MOM!!! MAKE SURE TO SEND THIS TO EVERYBODY!!!! :)
LONGEST YEAR OF MY LIFE AND SPANISH SUCKS!!! OK BYE....

hahahahah chiste (joke) but seriously this past week has been so slow and spanish is the easiest language to learn here and obviously I don't feel that way. But I'm pretty blessed cause I saw Christian Fowler from Sharps ward and he's been here 10 weeks learning cambodian... so I guess I won't complain.

So I guess ill just start at the fist day cause im sure you're dying to hear everything... after you dropped me off and I got my "hermana Boer" badge I SAW LARISSA!!!! :):) i just started bawling. and was like why am i crying. haha it was so good to see her first thing.. then after i got to my room and checked to see who my companion was. MADISON COBURN!! from georgia, hahaha i was so happy after that. We've gotten along so well and shes just a blessing in my life.. shes so spiritual.. haha anyways

so i get my 100 pound bag of materials and i sit in my class. once everybody is there, the teacher starts shooting off spanish like its her day job. its funny cause it is her day job;) hahahaha and in my head im just thinking what am i doing with my life. hahaha so after they took us to a nice little missionary rule devo... I've never heard so many rules, jk then the feed us...

There are so many people here its so overwhelming. and everybody is saying hello to you in their language they are speaking. so crazy... they feed us so much food and is so gross. jk its like a really good leftover for school lunch. but the chocolate milk is fanfreakintastic. obviously...

Then they give us some nice little (big) group role plays of investigators. The spirit is so strong here, angels walk the halls I swear. Its amazing. and then we meet our zone leaders which I love and we go to bed... it went by so fast, and then 6:30AM comes faster.... hahaha

There are 10 of us in my district. 6 boys and 4 girls, all the elders are going to mexico and us girls are going to the rica. es muy bien!! we get along so well im going to miss them all when we leave. i say that now... hahah jk es okeyyy i love them all so so much!!!

We get to class and our teacher tells us we're going to be teaching an investigator in straight spanish on friday. he laughed at all the looks on our faces. literally all i do here is study eat, classroom, study eat classroom, eat.... IM GOING TO GAIN A MILLION POUNDS!!!!! but dont worry, I take gym time very seriously. like yesterday I beat 8 boys at lightning, revenge style. I AM THE QUEEN OF THE COURT Y'ALL. haha and so humble about it too.... but really if those already XL skirts dont fit me,,,,

so back to my days.... Thursday night we met out branch president. he is sooooo amazing!!! and his counselors are hilarious. OH, so i saw Tyler White, the Palmers cousin!! and also a girl from my mission prep class, ... oh and I saw Sam Tetterton from SVU. he was like, hey Joce! i mean.. uhh hermana Boer? hhaha too funny. oh and Jacob Wolfely from p-town. I guess Alex White from p-town left last monday for costa rica so once i get there i'll probs see him and Jacob Smoot from SVU. woot woot party...

ok so obviously my P-days are on wednesday always. and i'll be writing to you usually around this time. (sorry my spelling sucks) (and we get an hour to email now!! woot woot!)

So friday Im just freaking out by now about what we teach our first investigator... his name is Pedro, he's fake.. but real. haha we know him by Sam and he's a teacher here... anyways. ok iv'e never prayed so much in my life or read my scriptures so much haahah so after we plan out what we wanna talk about with Pedro we get into his "home" and I'm feeling pretty confident with what i wanna say and such. So I said my prayer in spanish and im like alright I got this... and you can totes feel the spirit. anyways, so hermana coburn is just chatting away. she looks at me so i can say what i planned. i opened my mouth... NOTHING COMES OUT!!! hahahahha and i look like a deer in the headlights. so hermana just starts talking again then I just bear my testimony and leave... too funny...

everybody in my district is so hard on themselves and I'm like laughing cause we were only there for 2 days!! hahaha oh my goodness

I shouldve stayed awake for confrence a long time ago I would have gotten so much more out of it! THANK YOU so much for the conference treats, it made me so so happy!! you are the best :) ok so my fav talk was probably President Eyring. BLEW MY MIND!!! it was so good... his testimony was so amazing... and then the bishop who talked about marriage... I was like what am I doing here, I'm suppose to get married hahahaha but then I got confirmation from like 6 other general authorities that I'm where I'm supposed to be and that this is what I'm supposed to be doing, so I'm golden...

THANK YOU FOR THE DEAR ELDERS!!!!! tell everyone about them cause honestly is like christmas... or super bowl sunday... or you buying my chocolate milk at the store. hahah ITS THAT EXCITING TO GET LETTERS other than emails.

ok so after conference we went to the temple and did a temple walk. it was so awesome. we saw 3 other girls going to costa rica... I will send and email soon with pics of everything this past week. monday it snowed.. or tuesday i can never remember what day it is.. its such a blur. anyways so monday we taught our second lesson with pedro it went alot smoother. haha and tonite is our 3rd lesson and tomorrow is our last..

Hermana Johnson, my zone sister coordinator had a meeting with me cause I'm senior companion so I have to report to her and stuff... anyways so we were talking and she is THE sweetest person ever, and she said the most sweetest things ever, exactly what I needed to hear.. it was pretty much just an echo of my setting apart blessing. honestly she is soooo spiritual and I love it. We were bawling.

hahaha its an emotional roller coaster here but I've been surprisingly fine ;) yesterday we had devo with GERALD N LUND!!!! sooooooo cool!!! he talked about receiving revelation and if its just us, satan, or the holy ghost... I have whats called, hormonal revelation... hahahahah which is just me thinking I know whats up and whats suppose to happen and knowing more than God. ya know.. haha I DEFINITELY need to humble myself.. surprise. hahahah so i'll let ya know how thats going..

OK HAYDEN IS GOING TO PROM!?!?!!? AHHHHHHH SOOO HAPPY!!!!! I better get some pics!!! :) good job boy ;) how are you mom, are you training for anything yet?? thanks for tryin to get me some envelopes and stamps. Hopefully I'll get them soon! I LOVE YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!! I love you so so so much!! I don't think I realized how much I love my family until now. ITS CRAZY HOW MUCH I MISS y'all!!! <3 miss you too much. cant wait to hear from you again muahhh. until next week. Chao.

We received a letter from Sister Ginger!

      Hi Familia!

     The first day was absolutely crazy! I loved it! I ran into Larissa first thing and started bawling... after that I was golden. My companion is Hermana Coburn!! From Facebook! We're going to the Rica together!! Woot Woot! So first thing they started chatting in Espanol, and I'm like dang I know more than I thought and less than I thought, haha. It was kind of awesome. Then we had orientation and food and a tour and whatnot... whatevs. But then we had a teaching orientation, that was so spiritual! I can't even believe how strong the Spirit is here, I love it so much! 

My district is the BOMB.COM... well my whole zone is, but I love my district already! I know it's going to suck leaving them, haha... The food here is alright... BUT they have BYU ice cream on Sundays and Wednesdays. Sooooo, that's what will get me a lil chunky.. jk jk :) Well I love you all Mucho, hopefully one day ya'll will learn spanish and we can talk. 

PS. I need envelopes and stamps ASAP!!!
