hey hey hey. sup. can I just say how funny hermana tippetts and I are... we teach our comp way too many funny things to say in english. like in your face, or come at me bro. or too much rock for one hand. its awesome. anywayssss.... this weekkkkk....

 Monday night after i emailed, we went and had FHE with an investigator, we made cornflake things which is just cornflakes with sweeten condesed milk and butter, make it. its delish.  then every tuesday we meet with the bishop and talk about our progress. we rock, dont worry.  the bishop is really proud of our area and all our hard work and how well we work together with the elders. we have investigators every week at church, and have at least 1 baptism every saturday. they like us. haha us gringos. 

 On wednesdays we have district meetings, which are always fun... i guess... but  everybody else in the district is having troubles with getting people to sacrament meeting, so we had a whole lesson on that, so hopefully that helped with the others. our district leader was our pretend investigator and was like I dont think ya'll have a problem getting people to church cause you are so persuasive. ha yeah, we know, thats why we dont have a problem. duh. nah its real good, the whole mission is really getting good numbers...

Our cook for lunch can't feed us any more becuase she needs back surgery so I'm sure we will have a fun time finding another one. but that means i dont have to eat rice and freakin beans every day for a while... I hope. I'm honestly so sick everytime I eat something... but then after, I have to eat something better so I dont feel sick, so I eat cereal. imagine that. I  FOUND PEANUT BUTTER CAPN CRUNCH. its gross here, but I guess it will do...

anywayysssss. soooo our native comp is ALWAYS late to EVERYTHING. so it reallllyyyy ticks every body off. so on Saturday for Juans baptism, we were going to show up at 2 30 to get everything set up so she called the mission leader for the ward and the elders. we didnt get there till 3 30... and you know how much i LOVE being late..... so they were all like yelling at her, and I'm like I dont know anything, so they didn't yell at me.. she never tells us anything, so we get in trouble and so its really annoying... 

On Thursday, we had a little misunderstanding with our trainer and so shes just bawling her eyes out, our trainer calls like everybody she knows and crys to them about it, so one day our zone leader shows up and gives us a nice little lesson about working together. I was like, ok please you only know half of the story, and your a boy so you dont even know whats going down. but whatever, i think it worked for our trainer. God has a sense of humor putting me with her as one of my first comps. there will be more to come, I'm sure of it. Hermana Tippetts is me, in a gymnast body. hahaha she is the best, once we get home, we are gonna do a ton of stuff dont worry, you will love her!!!

We had to go to San Jose once last week cause the sister training leaders thought it would be cool to have a 30 min meeting with all of us about something I didnt understand. so we ride a bus for 2 hours, sit, then ride a bus home for 3 hours. hhahaha ill get over it.

Soo the baptism was FREAKIN awesome. Juan has such a strong testimony, and he is the coolest kid I know here. I love him. he reminds me of Cooper. and looks kinda like him too, its funny. 

its soo funny here when people try and speak english,  they yell at you. GOOD NIGHT. or, BYE BYE. HALOO. hahhahaha GOOD MORNING. 3 tree. hahaha they all know english cause they listen to english music, like 1 direction and t swift and all those others, but they dont know they know english. hahaha even though they sing those songs. 

 We have a nice volcanoe behind our house that wants to explode, soo thats cool. it has never exploded before but last night everybody said we had an earthquake from it, but ya know how I am when I sleep. I'm dead to the world so I didnt feel it. I'm sure when it does erupt, I will be asleep or something. haha but really, its so nasty here from all the smoke and ash its been blowing out. I'm sure we will be safe though. 

Today with some of our district, we went and hiked to the river. next pday we will actually make it to the waterfalls we wanted to go to. hahaha but it was a lot of fun... I will send pics now. 

I love all of you and am so proud of what all of you are accomplishing. thanks for all the love, support, and prayers. time is going by way fast. I will be home before you know it. I am so grateful for this gospel and the chance I have to be sharing it with these honest, crazy costa ricans. haha but really its great.

Last letter from the MTC!!!

oh. oh hey der....

MY GOSH IM SO EXCITED TO LEAVE THE USA!!! ive never been so excited. cause obviously ive never had the opportunity too. oh well, thats your fault, parents. hahaha jk anywaysssss. I GOT MY TRAVEL PLANS!!!! i leave SLC at 8:15, so if you want i can call you once i get through security at like 6 in the AM. then i get into dallas at 11, their time, so 10 your time. then we leave dallas at 4:10, and then i get into THE RICAAAAA at 7 pm. I AM SOOOO PUMPED OUT OF MY MINDDDDD. its real life now. but once i got the travel plans i was like oh crap, and started crying, cause i realized that im actually leaving y'all. but its all good, im doing the lords work.

 

We have this teacher in our zone, and he just got back from the rica like 6 months ago, and hes told us all about it. Dont worry, im safe and in good hands. :) I can drink the tap water there and everything. but good thing i have shower sandals, cause he had a comp that didnt wear them and he got fungus on his foot, and they had to fillet it. hahahahahha SUCKER. i cant wait to tell you all the crazy stories. i wont have trouble with animals or bugs or anything, if i dont mess with them... its hard, cause i saw a spider yesterday in the stair well, and all i did was scream, and climb on the stair rails out the door cause i didnt want it to bite me... So we'll see how well that goes with all the gross bugs or huge lizards out there... 

 

I saw Elder Wood on sunday at our sunday walk!!! I cried... im a baby. and it was so good to see him... and SHAKE HIS HAND!? yeah, stupid.. but it was really good to see somebody. 

When we got done with fast and testimony meeting on sunday, me and the hermanas rode in the laundry basket.... around the residence... we havent gotten in trouble... yet... hahahaha

 

ANNNDDDD i need like a ton of info on our family in australia and new Zealand. President Nally of the MTC wants to know, cause he served over there as a missionary and mission president. :) and also, are we related to Rob Montegue?? (sp) cause there's and aussie boy who knows him here and i was like i dunno. but i have a pic of Elder Sharp just incase. 

 

So on sunday, Chad Lewis, that played for BYU and Eagles came and gave us a spiritual pep talk,. thats what it felt like anyways. but it was sooooo good, and he is soooo funny!! hes the chinese nfl embassador cause he learned the language for his mish, and he was like i didnt know chinese football, all i knew was chinese gospel. so i was testifying that Tom Brady was making some true passes. hahaha honeslty it was a really good talk, and know for a fact, if im the best missionary out there, i will be more than blessed.

 

DYLAN. I sent you a letter. but it might get there tomorrow instead of today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! :) i love you soo soo much!! Be good and have so much fun in NYC!!! take lots of pics!!! and i got your dear elder, good job on the basketball! glad you could be on a team!! and im sooooo proud of you for wanting to get your blessing. i hope you are doing it for yourself, when you are ready. because it is such a wonderful miracle.

 

Thanks for the pics that you sent me!!! :) they are much apprciated. and now people actually believe me when i say im adopted. hahah jk

on monday, we SKYPED!!! for TRC. and that was just the most awkward thing ever. trying to "visit teach" over the internet.... it was weird, and not very effective, cause the bad reception and what not. but it was still cool to use some technology. hahaha

 

 So on tuesday, our district decided to eat a whole tower of cereal.... we each ate 6 1/2 bowls... I HATE FRUIT LOOPS NOW. i was so close to throwing up... it was nasty. so that was about 57 bowls worth of that gross stuff.. never again will i eat fruit loops. but good thing it wasnt any other good cereal or i would be dead by now. hahahaha

 

JUSTIN. thanks for the package. you trying to get me fat???? good thing there was only 1 package you could send to the MTC, cause if it was more, i would punch you. hahahah i cant wait for the ones from europe :)

 

DADDIO. thanks so much for all your dear elders. you are the best of the best. i appreciate it so much. i know exactly what i would do if i were with you at the ford store. id talk you into buying one. hahahaha

 

Thanks for sending me G'ma trimmers card. it was sweet to have something from her to remind me of one of the wonderful angels i have walking with me.  (she knows spanish) hahhaa ;)

 

so an hermana bore her testimony on sunday and was like, stop asking for the gift of tounges when you pray. start using it, because you were given that gift when you opened your call. soooo that was pretty inspiring.

 

I said the prayer for choir, and when he asked me to say it, he was like have you already said it, or did i just spit on you those other times... hahaha its so nasty. because he does....

 

So i hosted new missionaries yesterday. best experience everrrr. i loved it. its crazy to see what y'all went through when you dropped me off. and to trust somebody with red hair with your child... hahahahah jk but seriously, there were tears, cause i was like, crap, my parents went through this. haha its ok. im always in good hands, cause they're the Lords hands.

 

so ive probably had the best teachers here in the mtc. no one could ever be better. one of them said "if you do your best, i promise that you will be a perfect missionary as Jesus was, through the Holy ghost" he also said, you wont be a perfectionist, but you will be diligent, and if you are then you'll be fine.and if i make mistakes just repent, get back up and move forward.

Another one gave us a quote from elder worthin. "we see ourselves in terms of yesterday, and today, heavenly father sees us in terms of forever" ive gotta see myself the way he sees me. its tough some times, but its a good reminder. WE ALL NEED TO DO THAT.

on tuesday, eduardo gavarret came and spoke to us. he said we are all worth of a miracle, but we have to find it for ourselves. we have to identify them when they come to us. and my desire to do that, determines my success. we all need to change our hearts and do good things all the time.

 

Tomorrow we have in field orientation. i dont know what the crap that is, but its a whole 9 hours of my wonderful friday. but ive heard its amazing. so we'll see.

 

on fast sundays they have mission conferences. and the whole presidency of the mtc spoke. HOLY CRAP, they are amazing. some things that stuck out to me, were, judgements must be guided by righteous standards. we need to live in a way so we can stand before our maker with confidence. and what we think in our hearts of christ, shows us who we are and what our acts will be. LISTEN TO COME THOU FOUNT. honestly, it gets better and better every time... and there is so much meaning in it...

 

REGIE ANN. I CANT BELIEVE YOU ARE GETTING MARRIED. congrats my friend, im happy for you and for the person jimi boy is becoming. i better get some pics.

 

G'PA TRIMMER. I love you so so much. Thank you for being such a wonderful example to me, and for being so strong in the church. G'ma is watching over both of us, and she loves you so much, and you know you can see her again :) so dont you worry, chin up <3.

 

Soooo im starting to pack up.... i'll send some stuff home if my cases are too heavy. but i think i found a way that they will both be underweight. haha so we'll see... im nervous, but all the stuff in them is necessary!!

 

I am so excited to send you pics and updates from the rica. its gonna be so great. i can hardly wait. ive said it a million times... hahaha because its true.
