HOLA FROM THE RICA.
Hope back to school is going great for everybody! suckers. hahahaha
No really, its crazy that summer is over. for all of you, I've still got 13 months left of it. seriously, its freakin hot here. I'm comin back blonde and tan. I'm sure of it.

So Tuesday, we went to the richer part of Concepcion trying to find our less actives. We found them, and they are the coolest ever. Well we only found 1 couple, but they are super rad. The husband isn't a member, they are both dentists, and are expecting a babyyy!!! ahhhh so cute. They love to travel together, we talked about Vegas for a long time, I was like, yeah I love Vegas, the good ol days. haha

I saw Hna Tippetts Monday, and the Elders from Turrialba, and they were like, the people in Turrialba talk about you all the time, they didn't want you to leave, they miss you. haha I was like, I didn't even know how to speak spanish and  they still loved me.

So it was raining, surprise, real hard one day on our way to lunch, and all the sudden, it wasn't raining on us, but we could see the rain infront of us and hear it, and at the same time we were like, gracias padre celestial, and right after, freakin thunder shook the town, He was like, de nada. hahhaah missionary stuff... ya know.... we are weird.

I think I have worms, I never feel full when I eat, and I eat like a freakin pig.... its disgusting! its like, where can I get lipo....

My comp is really havin a hard time, because she doesn't ever hear from her family, and she feels like something is wrong.... pray for her. I feel so bad. she's the greatest and so humble, but she needs extra blessings. thank ya.

We were going to visit a less active in San Fran, and we have to walk through this alley way to get to her house, but there is this dog that belongs to one of her neighbors. a nice pit bull....  it comes running out of its house into the street, I swear it heard us coming, and it's like barking at us, and biting at our umbrellas, and we just happened to have bread, it was nasty, so I threw a little piece and it ate it real fast and came for a bite of us... so I threw the whole loaf and I ran, and my comp just stood there... don't worry, we made it... after like 5 seconds I grabbed my comp and we ran. hahaha scary stuff....

Silvia, a member of our ward, calls me her hija gringa. haha I have a lot of mommies here. what can I say, they love me.

So we have an investigator, who doesn't know how to read, but is a pastor, and always likes to try and shut us down with, what the bible says. HOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS. YOU CANT READ! people here believe what men say, not what God says.

Saturday, we were invited to a mothers day activity with the ward, because we had investigators go and it was catered Mexican food. defreakinlicious. I was happy with it. Then they had contests of, name that tune, I totally won saved by the bell. thank you TV. I love that show. hahaha but I gave my prize away, cause it wasn't a free dinner at the restaurant that a member owns. And then they had a dancing contest to gangamstyle.... the son of the secretary is 7 years old, and knows the whole thing. they teach it to the kids in school. hahahahaha I WAS DYING. I was like, yeah he could be my son, he has my moves. haha it was soooooo funny! and I started dancing a little bit, and my comp was trying to stop me,,, you know me and my dance moves. haha and we walked outside and the Bishop was like, you should dance when you are teaching people. hahaha

At church yesterday, I was sitting with Claudia and my comp, and my comp was tickling my back, so I was leaning down a little bit, and my legs were close to Claudia, and she feels them. THEY HAVEN'T BEEN SHAVED IN A MONTH. hhahaah I was like don't, their ugly. she was like, I never have had hair. it's true, she has nothing on her legs or arms. I'm so jealous. but then I decided its time to shave. so I did. Don't worry. They don't look too manly now. and while I was shaving, I got a bloody nose, like that thing drained for 10 minutes. I'm scared. Because never have I had a bloody nose. like that.... crazy stuff.

OK here's some scripts. Acts chapter 1, verse 18. its a winner.
and D&C 60 verses 2-3

Honestly, I love you all. Thank you for your support and love and everything y'all do for me. The prayers help. I'm so grateful for the time I have to preach this gospel, in spanish, believe it or not, I'm trying. haha I hope all of ya know that you can't get to the celestial kingdom without sharing the gospel. so get to it. ITS TRUE. all of it. love it. learn it. obey it. ya know,  all that good stuff.

I GOT MY BIRTHDAY PACKAGE FINALLY... don't worry, it was stuck in customs. I had to go get body scanned and stuff and buy it back. its ok. its just the best package in the world. thanks for it. I love it a whole bunch!
annnyyywayyyssss. Tuesday we had a reunion with all the hermanas in the mission. It was so fun! and so good to see all my sistassss.

I honestly have the best mission president and his wife. they are such a blessing. he gave us a talk of what a real woman is. Not a worldly one.  He shared the story of when Mary found out she was going to be the mother of Jesus. Those qualities she had, are those of what we should have. Always. Never should we fall for those worldly things, when we know what we have in this gospel. its pretty great right? I think so.

Wednesday we had a zone meeting. I freakin love my zone. they are so funny. but Elder Lundberg, my best friend, from AZ, gave a sick talk about missionary work, and the story of Nephi building a ship. I love that story. Then elder taylor, one of our zone leaders gave a talk about hope. he's awesome, and we are all hoping to work better with the members haha its tough out here. but its alright. President wants 200 baptisms the month of September, and the area 70 said its impossible. we are gonna prove him wrong. :)

I'm excited. cause we just committed the dad of the bishop to baptism! And this little Nikol girly that should be translated right now. haha but honestly, Juan, he has seen the missionaries for like 13 years, and he was like, I'm always gonna remember the red head gringa and the Honduranian that changed my heart. wahhhhhh it was awesome. I was like, is this for real.... and then in one year, when he goes through the temple with his wifey when they're sealed, I'll be there. how awesome huh... Sept 1st is the date, I'm stoked.

We had a lesson with the Picado familia, they are members, but have sons who are inactive. and finally after like 5 years of Melvin not talking at all to the missionaries, we got him to listen, and even read a verse. it was mothers day here, sooooo he kinda was trapped. hahaha score.

So I'm living with a Sydney.... it's a mess here. If ya know what I mean. I love my comp, she asks SO MANY QUESTIONS. and I'm like, why do you want to know why I just took my hair out of my ponytail.... I still wonder what I'm doing living with a girl 24 7 for 18 months.... I'm breathing. I think.

I was sick again. I'm always sick here and its ridiculous. I tripped cause I couldn't pick up my feet. hahaha but I keep on going, and the members just hand me pills to take. So I'm being taken care of. haha its like, throwing up one day, body aches the next, sinus infection for a week, and a migraine. but I'm still goin. don't worry bout me!

So Sunday we had HAIL durning church. yeah, like almost snow, hail.
I'm not joking.... it was ridiculous, I was like, I don't think im in the Rica anymore... but then it was freakin hot today, so I was like, actually yeah I am. it's just bipolar.

Well the rain today was nice. just a river in the street. and it's like golf balls hitting ya in the face. refreshing.

Read, Opening our Hearts to Revelation by Patrick Kearon.

congrats to Troy, or Bishop Sharp. haha crazyyyyy.

I love you all. I'm doing just fine. I couldn't be more blessed.

Hi everybody.

I'm alive and really well. CAUSE MY COMP GOT CHANGED!!!! Thanks for all the prayers and stuff. They worked. haha I've never been so happy in the past 4 months. haha I have THE BEST comp out here. She's honestly amazing. Hna Quiroz from Honduras! She is the cutest!!! this area is just dead, so we are gonna change things up and get it going.

anyways...

Monday, I learned how to make tortillas. once again, you're welcome future husband.... or cats. hahaha but seriously I'm freakin pumped to learn how to cook latino style. I'm happy about it. I guess being in the kitchen is a good thing sometimes. hahaha

I don't really have a lot to say.
Tuesday, we went to citas with the new missionaries from the Guatemala MTC that arrived early.... they are just little kids. I feel bad for them. I dont think they know what they are getting into. hahaha we had Hna Yac with us, and she just complained the whole time.... I just smiled. haha I was like, yeah good luck honey. Hopefully you will be alright where ever you go. cause this is tough stufffff!

We had a contact that thought we were Jehova Witnesses... so he didn't want to listen to us... hahah we were like, uhhh noooooo we are not them. And he was like oh my gosh I'm so sorry hahahaa poor man.

We have some really disobedient elders in our zone, one of our members told us she saw them at 1 in the morning at a burger place. hahaha I guess they were hungry... losers are gonna screw it all up for everybody. but my comp called the prez. I'm sure he already knew.... he knows a whole lotta stuff hahaah he is sure called of God.

Hna Ixchajchal called me again, and she was like, "I'm so happy for your change, I could see so much potential in you when I was your trainer, and you can only get better because you are a hard worker and the people really love you."  That was nice of her to say haha I love her, (when we aren't comps.) haha funny how that works yeah...

WE WENT TO THE TEMPLE SATURDAY!!!! Hna Quiroz is  convert of 3 years and the elder that baptized her is a tico. So he was getting married and we got permission to go! it was awesome. he didn't end up getting married, but we did get to do a session.... I did it in spanish. woot woot. Its way different but I liked it.

There's this guy we contacted and he just likes talking about wierd stuff, but he gave us coconuts. so that was nice. They are so gross. I hate coconut water. haha but there's a first for everything!

How do you say panqueque in english?? bread what what. hahahah

THANK YOU SYD AND JAKEY POO FOR THE SCRIPTURES!!!!!!!! I love you both!!! honestly, they are amazing!
GRANDMA!!!!!!!! thank you so much for the package. it was absolutely perfect!

Mommmyyyy, I'm still waiting for yours, but I'm sure I will get it soon. it just takes a while. I'm excited for it.

Elly! I got your dear elder, thank you so so much for your kind words! I love you!!

Heres some scriptures. 1 peter 4:12-13 and isaiah 41:10.

I'm learning so much, its unbelieveable. thank you everyone for your prayers and support and emails. I enjoy them every Monday... :)

Week 12

Hi. Guess what. I'm done with training!!! I hated it. And now I'm done. but if im ever a trainer. woosh. I'll hate it again. Haha

HOW WAS MY BIRTHDAY IN THE STATES!!!
My birthday was pretty sick here in the Rica. The elders brought me a cake to our district meeting, we had a little frosting fight, but that was fun. haha then we went to an investigators house, because we both had our birthdays, and we partied it up a bit. (as much as a missionary can i guess. hahah)

The 2nd of August is dia de la virgen de angeles. which is, worship mary, day. so everything was closed, and there were MILLIONS of people walking from all over the country to Cartago. we were invited over to the Alexs house to make pan. it was great... and just another 3 pounds. NBD.  They have a lot of words here that don't have a significance... so that really helps me out with my spanish. haha

I told my comp that I have ideas and it would be nice if she listened to them. but we kinda had a fight about it... haha but we are good now, and she actually listens to me. and we had a freakin awesome week.
The sister of the bishop gave me a big jar of peanut butter. happy birthday to me.  Shes super pregnant, and ate a little bit, and was like, ok I don't want it anymore, I know those gringos love it. hahaah ok sweet.

We have a menos activo, who is really sick, and doesn't have money... Hermana Carreon found a wallet about 5 months ago, full of money, and no body claimed it... like she went to the bank and everything... so we gave the money to sioni, and she got her pills. Then she went to a doctor we recommended, and the doctor gave her antibiotics. for free.... thats what ya get for goin to church. wooshhhh. ALMA 37 35-37

somedays I wish I had President Tanner with me. cause sometimes, I feel like I know nothing. take me back to seminary.... haha

EVERYBODY AND THEIR DOGS ARE GETTING MARRIED. sometimes I dont know what I'm suppose to do. I'm like, oh there's the crowd of missionaries, lets go. Wait now everybody is gettin married. lets go. hahah jk nahhh the mission is gonna bless my future family, AND MY HUSBAND IS GONNA BE HOTTTTT. thank you pleaseeee.

I HAVE 4 months in the mission. 4. yeah, where is the time going. changes are this week. im freaking out..... i dont know why. haha

The dad of the bishop didn't accept our baptism invite. again. cause he doesn't wanna feel pressured. ok dude, you've had 6 months to decide. hurry it up. we know you've had your answer.  GO TO CHURCH AND YOU WILL KNOW THAT ITS TRUE. I don't understand the people here sometimes. or all the time... not just their language either. haha

There's this nice stomach bacteria,  that everybody is getting. they think its from the water. so thats real nice for us. cool eh.

So I stare at the white people... now I know what its like.. hhahaah I know why everyone stares at me now!!!
We have a lot of spiders as our pets. I love it... not. I'm gonna cry if I see another one...

We had a noche de hogar with some menos activos yesterday. and we were starving cause it was fast sunday, and they usually just give us bread with fresco or queque. NO LAST NIGHT WE HAD FOOD!!! i died. it was delish. and didnt have frijoles. thank you. hahah

well nothing too exciting is happening. but next week ill let ya know where im at. haha if im still alive. so thats good.
OK LOVE YOU BYEEEEEE
