gosh dang.... usually I have a paper with all my thoughts and stuff that went on during the week, but guess what. I FORGOT IT IN THE HOUSEEEEEEEEE. some things never change I guess. always forgetting something....

Just wanted to tell everybody that my feet stink. And will stink for the next year... I'm gonna have to have Justin look at these babies when I get home. gotta get professional help for them....

Transfers were Thursday.... WE DIDN'T GET TRANSFERRED! wooooottttt. I'm still with Hermana Quiroz. I'm still with the original zone, cause no body got switched, except we got a new sister trainer expert person, whatever they're called, cause the other one ended her mission. But I'm still in THE BEST ZONE. seriously, I've got the best leaders. EVER.

We went to our district meeting, and the Elders were like, hey we are gonna teach you for practice, but just as us and you as missionaries. and Elder Taylor was like, what would you like me to offer in the prayer?  So we told him, and then after the prayer, they were just on fire. seriously, we were all kinda cryin, we talked about forgiveness and stuff cause we are bothered by our cook, and they just said all the right things. then Elder Taylor gave us a chapter to read, Luke 23. when Jesus was crucified.... then he called us that night and asked what we learned from the reading. gosh dang it, its  awesome. READ IT.

We got home late Tuesday to our house cause of an appointment, AND HERMANAS WERE STANDING OUTSIDE OF OUR HOUSE. Because one of them was ending their mission so they had to be in San Jose for the next day. No one told us that we had company, so that was super embarrassing. haha whoops... we learned not to be late anymore.

Wednesday we went hunting for a contact from the bus on pday, and we were asking people about her, cause we forgot her name and they were like oh yeah yeah her. and they gave us directions. IT WASN'T HER. but of course we decided to teach her anyways... shes from Cuba. her accent is SICCKKKK!!! anyways, she was like, "yeah I wanna learn more about those mormons. but I wanna tell you somethin. I have an addiction. I love to dance" OKAY. hold it right there.... I DIEDDDDD. honestly, I had to turn away... .but seriously, CUBANS HAVE A PROBLEM WITH DANCING. and its not the good kind...

Anyways, after that we met up with Elder Ellsworth, cause he had to do an interview for Juan to see how he is doin for him baptism. and I told him about our new investigator. he died. he was like "there is professional help for that, its called JUST DANCE" hahahahahahahha AHHHHHHHH.... .well the interview went not how we wanted it to, but Juan set his own date for his baptism in October... he's been planning it for about 2 months.... but he has a super great testimony, and wants to finish the Book of Mormon before his baptism... and the date is a surprise, so we don't know yet. haha so thats real nice.

We talked to the dad of Nikol, our other investigator who has a date. and he was like no she is too young. then I bore my testimony about when I was baptized and how old I was, and BAM, HE SAID YES. when the chapel is finished... next month.. we got 2. woot.

So Saturday we had an activity of missionary work, the restauration of the gospel.... we were suppose to have our ward mission leader and bishop and all the leaders of the ward help us out. nope. NO ONEEEE. Our mission leader called the old bishop and was like hey can you help us out with this theme, like 2 days before, and they were like ok sure.... our theme was the organization of the church in old times and today. We had some photos and posters and stuff, and then they showed up with a slide show and they talked about it all. Nailed it. but it went really well, we have 3 more, because it's an activity for the whole stake, so we go to different wards every weekend. Except conference weekend, WHICH IS SUPER CLOSE!!! and I'm super excited. but anyways, the zone leaders had balloons in their display for some reason, and they blew them up, and I walked into their set up, and they thought it would be funny to bombard me with balloons, in the face... its true, no one grows up on their mission, just our testimonies increase a little bit haahahah

Yesterday we had ward council, and no one showed up except for 4 people, not even the bishop was there... haha, then after we listened to President give a talk in Tres Rios ward, it was SUPER GOOD!! he talked about "one by one" the scripture in 3 Nephi 11:15. and Alma 56:24. and the tool of God is the love. we should definitely be lovin people and giving them the chance to hear about this awesome happiness that we have. and help save souls one by one. (hope that made sense) hahaah

After we had our interviews with President. It was like 5 mins long. Just a nice check up. he was like, are you happy, and I was like, yes of course, and he was like, yeah I can tell. You had a lot of difficulties with Hna Carreon, uh yeah I did. and he was like, yeah after our interview last time, I prayed specifically for you, cause I was worried about you, and then I had the thought, and I put your photo next to Hna Quirozs photo and it just felt right, I knew that this is what the Lord wanted me to do, is to have you and Hna Quiroz together in Concepcion. WHAT. yeah thats right, I'm pretty sure we are gonna be comps for a good while. he was like, "she makes me a better person", and I was like," yeah me too." haha and then he was like," your cousin is on our list now! he will be here before you know it!" and then here is another convo from the interview " does your cousin play basketball?" "yes." "Is he good?" "yeah, i guess"... "hmm good to know." hahahahah interesting, huh?

AND we had Juan AND Juan Carlos come to church! woooooshhh!!!  We went to primary during sunday school. and we colored. This one kid looked at my paper and was like, will you give that to me? hahahaha yes of course. so cute. Then we had cake in relief society, they bring cake once a month for the birthdays. IT WAS THE BEST CARROT CAKE I HAVE EVER HAD! I'm gonna make it for you Father. its delish. then we went to Alexs' house. he's the second councelor in the bishopric. And we got to know them really well.  hahahaha we asked how they met and he was like, she couldn't resist my good looks. Then we were like your baby is so cute, and he was like, yeah he looks like me, super handsome hu? hahah then they gave us a bunch of treats that they give the primary. SCORE. they love us. and they were like, if you pass by our house later tonight, we will give you a ride home. and now we have a ride home, like everynight. saweeeett!!

Today we went to office depot with the zone so they could print photos and then we went to a mexican restaurant that a member owns for lunch, and we were like hope its free. AND THEN........ HNA WILKINSON SHOWED UP AND WAS LIKE, LUNCH IS ON ME. She's an angel.

Well I don't have a whole lot of wisdom to give ya this week, cause I forgot it..... but just want to tell ya, that the scriptures will help ya out mucho with the difficulties you are having. Start out with a prayer, and be lead by the spirit. Humble yourselves. Be the better person. And love errybody. Pray for a spiritual experience during conference! You got time, Pray everyday.

Guess what. Papas birthday is this week. Miss him like crazy, but he's here pushin me along. :) which makes everything better. cause he is the greatest. got me some great angels hu?

Anyways. I guess thats all for nowwwww.
xoxoxo
LOVE YOU. you are prayed for.
love,
me

Oh my gosh, its transfers again this week. time just goes by so freakin fast, its redick.

Monday after I emailed you we went to Claudias house. I GOT 3 NEW PAIRS OF SHOES. thank you rich people. and thank you steve madden for living and making nice shoes. yes, I got me some high class shoes, for freeeeeeeee. I love being a missionary.

We went to Hna Lees as well, and her family from Utah were still there, so I did a little translating for my comp and them. I was so happy I understood her. haha

Tuesday we had a nice district meeting... I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT QUESTIONS OF THE SOUL. ask me one, and I'll be like, yeah sorry I can't answer that. Well there's a baptism down the drain. haha no I'm working on knowing scriptures better. When somebody asks a question during the lesson, the spirit is like BAM Alma 14. ok cool, but during district meeting its like, hey Elder I'd like to slap ya across the face right now for making me look bad. but whatever. I'm still learning.

The temple was awesomeeeeeee. I loveeee itttttt so much. even when I only understand half of it, its still super cool. and spiritual.

So we were riding in the bus on the way to San Jose, and we only have like 4 dollars for the rest of the week, and I forgot my temple recommend. I was like hey comp I'm dumb and forgot my recommend, and she was like, ok lets get off here and go get it. And I was like, we have no money. and she was like we will have to pray like crazy. So we walked 15 mins back to the house AND THERE WAS 20 DOLLARS IN OUR HOUSE. yes, the lord really wanted us to go to the temple.... its not really dollars, but it makes more sense for all of you... hahaha...

Friday I woke up with a nice ear ache. Got me a nice ear infection. oh the joys of being a missionary. I was like, no we are working, lets do this. So we went and did family history with the district for a little bit. HEY THERE IS A LOT OF WORK TO DO FOR THE DEAD. so do it. I didnt know it was so fun until Elder Taylor and I found out that in the 265 BC he's related to the king of France..... its fun, or its just that boring.... hahaha jk jk jk. there's just a lot of work to do... once I'm done baptizing people who are alive, I'll do it for the dead. 1 year. woosh.

We had to have a story of our ward being united, so we called the past bishop and asked him. and he shared a story of one christmas everyone in the ward gave a gift, and they sent it to children in Nicaragua who didn't have anything. and I was reminded of that one christmas like a million years ago in Preston, where we were so blessed to have such a great ward. and I'm so blessed to have such a great family, all of you, that gives for christmas, instead of recieving. think about that this year... even though its still 3 months away, all of ya should think about serving others instead of being selfish and thinking about what you want to receive.

We had church at 4 in the afternoon yesterday, because it was independence day of Central America or something. We were combined with tres rios ward as well. that was the biggest attendence we have had in a long time. hahahaha and I also recieved a nice blessing from the Elders, cause I was hurtin real bad. and now I'm better. thank you priesthood. Heavenly Father is happy with where I am. I guess I really need to be reminded of my decision, that its the right one. Which I know it is.

Juan Carlos came to church with us. He enjoyed it. His sister Kayling wants to learn english to study at BYU after her mission, so I gave her a BOM in english. She cried. Your welcome.

Our FHE lesson with the Perieras was about forgiveness. A knife in my heart. gosh dang, that's hard stuff to do. But we should all do it. Forgive and forget, and don't be dumb about it. Sincerly forgive and ask forgiveness to the people and to God. gotta love it.

WE TOTES HAVE THE CONFIDENCE OF THE PERIERA FAMILY. fam of the bishop. his brother is super inactive, and didn't want anything to do with the missionaries, but yesterday, he joined us for lunch, and talked with us about our lives and homes and stuff, then gave us a ride back to our house. YES. nailed it. We are working with him, little by little. I'm just hoping we don't get changes. but the elders told us there won't be alot of transfers this time because President wants 200 baptisms, so its better to keep working as the same companionship with the people who have dates right now. but we will see.

Saturday we were walking back to our house, and there was a lot of parties goin on for independence day, and we walked past this one house and somebody yelled BOER. HEY BOER. and I looked over and he was like, BOER I LOVE YOU. I have no clue who it is, still. And he was totally drunk. My comp was like, Hermana Boer, everybody loves you here. they know who you are, and they love you. hahaah

this week was pretty crazy, but not a whole lot to say.
heres some scripts to remind you that The Lord loves ya
1 Samuel 16 verse 7
1 Peter 5 verses 6-7
and I love ya as well.
smile.

September 9, 2013

This transfer is going by wayyyy to fast. Seriously.

Today wasn't Pday. but we still got to email. CAUSE WE ARE GOIN TO THE TEMPLE WEDNESDAY. as a nice little zone. I cant believe it's already been 3 months since I went with my last zone. crazyyyyy. I'm super stoked.

We have a new rule. No more hand signs in photos. That's the one thing I would get sent home for. hahaha I'm still working hard on that.

We had a bishop from our stake come and talk to us for our zone meeting this month. He is fantastic. He gave us 16 things to do during our dead hours. WE CANNOT CONTACT anymore. How exciting is that. I'm super pumped, cause knocking on doors sucks. He told us we need to make cookies. that will help everybody out. It's so true, once people see treats they are all over you. haha

So there is this inactive who had us over for lunch on Tuesday. SHE IS CRAZY. seriously, crazy in the head. she reminds me of the witch of Hanzel and Grettle. (sp) eat more, eat more, sit down, tell me I'm pretty, and intelligent and know everything... ahhh I'm scared.

We went to Juans house EARLY Wednesday morning to make a soup that they do in nicaragua. its so cool! they cook it in leaves.... gosh dang it was delish. so we started teaching the grandson of Juan, his name is Juan Carlos. he was like I want to know about the BOM. so we let him know about it. then, we showed him the restoration movie. He cried... but didn't accept a baptism date... yet... but I've got a good feeling that he and his grandpa will be baptized this month. woot woot.

I finally made the cheesecake you sent me momma. we went to Claudias house to make it. it was so fun. They have this kid living with them cause he works close to here, and he is like a chef. so I let him make it. Because he kept correcting me, like, are you sure that it doesn't need more milk. and I'm like, its out of a box but make it. I want you to eat it as well. hahaha they loved it. They were like "those gringos know how to do things easy. but I'm sure they cant make it homemade." and I was like, "try me." so we are going there tonight to cook and share a nice message. her son has such a strong testimony of the gospel, but because people are people and no body is perfect, he's super inactive... we are gonna change that.

The mom of Gaudy is super catholic and gave us a reference. she is just challenging us. She was like, she wants nothing to do with God or any church, but this is were she lives. good luck. haha BRING IT ON.
We also had a birthday party for Gaudys brother. They are sooo poor, like they don't eat when we come over because they feed us first. I hate it, and I just wanna cry. but they are so humble. Anyways, we brought him a cake. I've never seen a 4 year old so freakin happy. it was the best... I learned a lot that day. I have so much to be thankful for. One of his uncles that he didn't even know existed, came and it was so cute!

Our zone leaders think they are the funniest people around. they do a nice oink sound when they say my name.
Costa Rica beat USA in soccer on Friday. I got a lot of crap in the streets. hahaha but at least I'm not getting mugged for it.

We had a lesson with an investigator and her son who is an inactive, and my comp asked when was the last time you were actually happy, not temporally, but actually happy. Because he is a cranky "·%%.... haha and it got me thinking big time. I really enjoy those worldly things that make me happy, and I miss the people that made me happy most of the time. but is that really going to matter? but ya know what?, I'm doing one of the greatest things that could make me happy, I'm preaching the gospel, that gives me this happiness. what could be better? I miss the people that make me the happiest, my family, and my friends that are examples to me, but I know that they are alright, and that I'll see them when I get home. I know they are doing the right things that make them happy, so why should I worry? Think about it. ARE YOU HAPPY? If not, change that and do the things that will make you happy for eternity.

Our stake president spoke in church yesterday about the temple. he said "a lot of us have our endownments, but we won't have those blessings, or be protected, unless we attend the temple" DO IT.

We also sat in the sunday school class for the youth, can I just say I miss that big time. haha anyways, it was a great lesson on how to share the gospel. BE KIND. HAVE GOOD INTENTIONS. D&C 11:21. and listen to those answers that you recieve, so that you can be more intune with the spirit, when you are sharing the gospel. if your scared, stop being a baby, and help those missionaries out.

We had another FHE with family Periera. The bishop taught the lesson. its was so good! It was about families. and what qualities families should have when they have the gospel. and how we should be different than others, and have a different feeling in our home when people visit. feelings of love and confidence. our first place we should look for, is our homes. Thanks for my home, mom and dad. Thank you for having the gospel in our home, and that great love :) you both are the best! love you a butt load.

Anyways. here's some nice scriptures I was reading throughout the week.
D&C 136:30-37,42
Moroni 10:32
Ephesians 4:32
James chapter 3.
Tounges of angels by Jeffery R Holland. read it.

and theres a good talk from general confrence in April from Erich W Kopishke from the 70. its called, to be accepted of the Lord. or something like that. I read it in spanish soooo I'm not sure what the title would really be. hahaha
thank you for all the updates and the love and prayers. prayers are sent your way as well.
Love you all.

September 2, 2013

I swear if BSU loses again...... thats all im gonna say....

Anywayssssss.... I hope everyone is well. I can't believe Avery is 1, and I can't believe its September. I only have 13 months left... TIME IS FLYING BY. don't blink... I hope you have that song stuck in your head now, cause I do.

Monday, funny stories. we went to eat at a members house in my comps old area, and we ran into some elders in our zone. I was talking with the gringo and my comp with the latino, and we are in the middle of our convo, and he says, does she have hair on her lip. hahahahah yes elder, I'm pretty sure they all do. he's the best. AND THEN. We were told that we could get to our area in a different way than usual, so we decided to try it. yeah, we got real lost. like, the only place in the middle of no where, was a psych ward. I almost peed my pants. it was freakin scary. The guard at the gate was like, what can I help you with, I was like call us a taxi and don't open that gate. hahaha  a doctor came out with some gross stuff on a tray, and fed it to the dogs. I almost had to be amitted in there. I was freakin out. and the only thing they can say is,  it's dangerous here. ok thanks....

Tuesday we had divisons again, they try to have them once every transfer. I had Hna Salas again, but she came to Concepcion. I was so nervous, I don't know why, she was like, chill, I'm not here to grade you. but that's what they do when we do divisions. I'm not stupid. haha but she gave a lot of great advice, and said that I'm improving a bunch on my espaƱol and that I'm a hard worker, and have a strong testimony. well ok, thanks haha

Come to find out, one family in our ward went through the temple with a missionary named WILL SHARP!!!!!! the Vanegas Castro family, we were looking at photos and I was like HEY THATS ELDER SHARP. and they were like, yup it is. and I was like, yup I know him. cool hu.

Elder Ellsworth, our district leader called one night like 5 times and the last time, he says, sorry to molest you.. hahahahah molestar is spanish is to bother or bug. he was thinking in spanish but spoke in english. its hard. hahahah

We went and visited Claudia Friday. I was dying. her family and her are sooo funny. she told the story about my hairy legs to her sons and she was like, it was like a cactus. hahaha
Did you know that the schooling here is less than the states and costs less. yeah, im gonna look into that. then we ate pizza with them, and my comp broke her tooth. it was homemade so it was a little crispy. i enjoyed it. haha

We went to visit Xiomara an investigator but she wasn't there so we visited with one of her sons, he happens to be a member. he is learning english so he made me pray in english. I started in spanish but he was like no, english. so I did, and I said, "por favor. crap please". and "salud, uhhh health". hahaha cause I havent prayed in english for about 5 months sooo its a little weird. haha and then my comp had to use the bathroom... and their bathroom had some problems, she spent 30 mins trying to flush her poo down the toilet and all we could do was laugh, now everytime he sees her, he's like, you're the one who clogged my toilet with poop. hahahaha. she was like, guys I have a problem in here.... hahaha I was dying.

Brother Lee, the gringo in our ward died. He was super sick so it was a good thing, but to help Hna Lee out, we bathed her dogs. I loved it. haha

THE DAD OF THE BISHOP CAME TO CHURCH YESTERDAY!!!!!!! he was suppose to get baptized yesterday, but never came to church. and yesterday he came, so he has 2 left, then he will be baptized. the bishop said that this month it will happen, cause our testimonies have been powerful to him.  its the spirit. always.
Welp, I love you all. and I miss you all. and American food.

Thanks mother for always making us keep our house and rooms clean. I know why you do it, cause if not, it would be nasty. honestly I HAVE THE BEST MOM EVER.

THE CHURCH IS TRUE.
