PURA VIDA COSTA RICA- Sept. 22, 2014

I'm comin home, comin home, tell the world that I'm comin homeeeeee....
Yep. you better believe it. A year and a half went by faster than ya
thought. it sure did for me.
Just a little bit about the past week.
We went to the temple. my last time in the Rica, for a while. it was
really good. I LOVE the temple. I'm gonna miss it in spanish. hahah jk.

We FINALLY had our conference with president. He was honestly so
happy, and so relaxed with us. he said, ya know what, I trust alot in
all of you, and know you are doing what you all need to do. that's why
you are having success in this zone. It will be the most successful
month in the past 2 1 /2 years here in Heredia. And he is really
pleased with us for understanding our purpose, and helping others
understand the importance of this gospel. we are working hard, and we
are really united here. I'm gonna miss it a little...

The branch president had us speak yesterday in church. my last
Sunday. There were a lot of tears. not just from me. THE PEOPLE LOVE
ME!!! I love them too. It's a lot of mixed feelings goin on here... I
talked on service, and shared mosiah 18:8-10. To remind them of their
promise they made when they were baptized. It was a good reminder for
me as well.

These past 18 months have been so up and down. but I couldn't have
enjoyed it more. Honestly, I wouldn't change it for the world. It was
the best experience I've had in my life, and will always keep it close
to me. I learned so much. my testimony has strengthed like 10000 times
more than it was. And I found myself out here. I know who I am, and
who I should be, and what I should do to return to my Father in
Heaven. Being a complete representative of Christ makes me remember
who I need to follow, and one day I will be like Him. Anything is
possible with the Spirit, and we should be worthy to have his
presence. I haven't trusted in the Lord so much in my life, but I've
learned here, that that is the only thing I need to do to get through
this life. This is THE ONLY true church on this earth. Joseph Smith
was called of God to restore this Gospel. With out this gospel I don't
know where I would be. and I wouldn't want to know. I know that the
prophets and apostles these days, receive revelation for us. We have
to listen to them. Obedience to the commandments of God, is how we
will receive the blessings we need. I know I will be with my Family
forever. and I have no doubt that I will see Papa and AmyLynne and Gma
Trimmer again. and all those who have past on, that have made an
impact on my life. ENDURE TO THE END.
Thank you to all of you for your love and support through this
journey. May God bless you.
See you in Tminus 3 days. mas o menos. :)

Independence Day in the Rica September 15, 2014

Happy Independence day here in the Rica. It's crazy stuff. But the food
is SO GOOD. ok, now I understand why I've gained a bit of weight.
hahahah don't judge me. I'm enjoying the mission but seriously, I'm
eating churros right now. The streets are filled with food, and bands,
and parades. NO BODY is in their house. It started even before our
alarm went off. So we were up at like 5 this morning... but I'm not mad
about it. I'm enjoying it.

Well this week was interesting.  We were suppose to have a baptism
this week, and he dissapeared. literally... somebody gave him money
for a bus pass, and hasn't come back.... still. So that baptism didn't
happen. It's a really weird situation, but I guess he just didn't
understand really how important this gospel is. your loss! maybe one
day he will come back.

Jimena accepted a baptismal date for Saturday, my last one!!!!
and we all talked about it with her family, and they said if she feels
ready, she can do it. Her dad was crying and so was she, because they
both knew that she is ready, and has been ready, but they didn't
realize it before. but the spirit was really strong, and even her mom,
who is hard core catholic, felt like she was ready now.

We got to know a new family in the branch this week. The dad is SUPER
inactive, but the daughter said that he's heard good things about us,
so they invited us over. Usually when somebody is inactive, they don't
really accept us, but he was awesome. this family is awesome! I'm gonna
miss them alot. They said the daughter could come visit me when
she wanted. so I told her it was ok. hahaah she speaks english. Don't
worry. cause that would be awkward.

The attendance in church is going up. Which is exciting! I just
think that people don't come to church on fast Sunday so they don't have
to fast. We had 45 last week, and 70 this week. so that tells ya
somethin...

It's flooded almost everyday these past couple weeks right, so we
we're getting out of the bus, going home, and my comp was kinda having
troubles keeping her crocs on, and when we got out of the street, in
the knee deep water, she took another step, and her shoe fell off and
went into the gutter. hahahah with the nice waterfall goin down under
the street. She only has 1 croc now. it was sad, but so funny, because
she didn't know whether to laugh or be mad, cause we were soaking wet,
and knee deep in water, just standing there watching her shoe get
washed away. hahaha I wont miss the rain here.

It was our branch presidents birthday this week, and he had to
spend it alone, so our ward missionary, and us, made a cheesecake
(thanks mom) and we went and sang to him. It was a good cheesecake.
hahaha

A girl we met this week, that wanted to meet with us, she came to
church yesterday, and was really happy there, and said she wanted to
learn more, and she's reading the Book of Mormon. woot woot.

Well, I'm really excited for this week, we get to go to the temple, my
last time here in The Rica. Bitter sweet moment. These next 9
days are going to be bitter sweet. I love this gospel, and this work.
I don't know how many times I could say it, but I know WITHOUT a doubt
that this church is led by Christ. Because of Him I am here doing His
work. and I don't know how I could pay him back, but I'm doing the best
I can. :)

one down, one more to go. xoxoxoxo

Mixed Feelings Sept 8, 2014

Honestly. Yime goes by so fast. and that's because it's not my time, but
the Lords. There is no time to waste. I'M FREAKING OUT AND I STILL
HAVE 2 WEEKS LEFT.... but let's not think about that for a little bit
longer...

So remember last week how I talked about Stivens mom... yeah she's
getting baptized the 27th!! I'm trying to talk her into getting
baptized before I leave.. we will see if she goes through with it. but
if not, it's still a great miracle that she has made the decision to
get baptized. we taught her about the Holy Ghost for the FHE. and it
was actually really appropriate, cause she was asking us questions
about how we know what's true and what's not, and if we are listening to
the spirit of God. We are really inspired. Thank you Heavenly Father.
He's the man.

We finally had a member go out to visit some people with us. it was
one who told us THE FIRST DAY she would go with us... it finally
happened. We found some old people the elders used to visit, and they
accepted a baptismal date right away. They were at the point of
baptism before the elders got taken out of here and then they just
lost all contact because they moved as well right after that. So we
found them, as well as some friends that have been interested. They
are actually really great, and really excited to come back to church.

Stiven got baptized on Saturday! It was awesome. his family was there,
and every one was really excited. AND it was FILLED. It was a surprise
because the branch doesn't support anything. But that baptism was
filled of members. It was nice. He's gonna grow up to be an amazing
missionary.

welp. not much more to say. things are great here... Love it. More
than anything. :) xoxoxo

September Rainnnnnnn Sept. 1, 2014

Well let's just say we have seen a lot of miracles this week. Thank
goodness. and I've realized that sometimes, (or all the time) I just
need to be patient, and know that EVERYTHING is in the Lords time, and
not ours, and this is the work of the Lord, so if we humble ourselves,
and thank him, and not think all that happened is what we did, but
Him, we we see many more miracles. and that's just what we did this
week. And what we will continue to do. Because the Lord is opening
many hearts here in this area to recieve us.

Last monday, we had a nice FHE with Stiven, the one that gets baptized
this Saturday, and his mom, with the branch presidents family. It was
so awesome. the spirit was so strong, and she was opening up to us,
which was nice, cause she has a lot of questions and doubts about
somethings, and then she said that she wants to feel the same way her
son is feeling and have a change like she is seeing in him. and she
started to cry. We knew and let her know that she was feeling it
in that moment, and if she keeps doing the right things, and following
in the steps of her son, and of Christ, she will feel that way always.
she came to church, and today we are gonna make a goal for her to get
baptized as well, because she is really feeling the spirit strong when
shes around us or members of the church, and she really wants a nice
change in her life.

We had divisions this week with the hermanas, its was nice, I went to
a different area, and we saw a lot of miracles as well. It was with
hermana Starke, we were together in the MTC. So it was a nice little
reunion. We taught really well together, and got a long real well. but
I'm glad we got them over with so fast. Because I always dread divisions,
cause I'm always thinking about the area I'm asigned to and how my comp
is doing, and if our investigators are progressing. haha
#missionarylife.

We had a multizone conference with president again... it was awful.
and sad. honestly, there was a lot of retention and contention there,
with the other zones, and president was REALLY sick, and none of us
could feel the spirit, so he cancled half way through, and so we will
have it this week, alone, because honestly, there are some
missionaries in the other zones, that just are here to vacation, and
are too prideful to recieve council from President, and that council
comes from God, so obviously they are too prideful to recieve
inspiration from God, it was really frusterating, because our zone
came to learn, but couldn't. So I'm kinda glad he will come meet with us
alone so we can actually feel the spirit. I've never seen anything like
that during my time here...

We found a bunch of new people this week, one, ok 3 of which are
GOLDEN. I mean all of them are, but these are golden, like the golden
ticket in a chocolate bar... which me and my comp totally ate this
week... anywayssss... yeah, they were just a contact in the street,
and they were so excited to sit down and visit with us. and they have
a lot of problems in their lives, and have gone through a lot. but
with the opening hymn during our first visit with them, they were all
crying. The spirit was so strong. Not saying that everytime somebody
crys the spirit is strong, but in this situation, it so was. anyways,
they were really open with us as well, and the spirit opened their
hearts, and ours as well so that we could decern their needs, and
they've had a lot of doubts on if they would see their 2 family members
that died recently. We let them know that they would. Next lesson,
plan of salvation. Thank you true gospel of Christ. #loveyoulongtime
and thank you spirit.

I know without a doubt, that this is the one and only true church. and
that we are so blessed to have a loving Father in Heaven, who
testifies to us through the holy ghost. I love him. and I know he
loves me, and each and every one of you as well. Don't ever forget it.
hermana Starke shared this scripture with me... just to make me a bit
sad, cause I go home before her.

2 Timothy 4:6-7. Almost there. but to
be honest. I don't want it to end. but I know I'm doing what the Lord
wants, and I will go home, when I've finished all I could here in the
Rica :)
God speed.
enjoy my emails while ya can. they're comin to an end quickkkk... hahaha

NPS No puede serrrrrr August 25, 2014

Yeah, I can't believe it either. The real countdown begins. And the 30
days I have left, I'm doing a new diet, called the 30 day fast. They
say not to do it like Jesus did, so I cut it a little bit shorter. I
have faith.

Today we went to the nice country club here. some members invited us,
and it was really nice, we had a nice time with them. There are good
people here, thank goodness.
We decided that we actually need to help the members here. Not just
spiritually, but temperally as well. I mean I've always had to do
service and such, but I'll tell ya what, I haven't done so much service
in one area before. Theres a lot to be done with these people. one of
my favorites that we did, was paint a house. but not just any house, a
house that people moved out of, and the people that own it are
members,  they weren't paying so they kicked em out. and when they
left, they spray painted some nice words and signs in there for the
members to tell them how grateful they were for kicking them out.
hahahahahahah my comp didn't know what they meant. which is for the
better. But we did learn a lot about this family, and I'm pretty sure
we gained their confidence. which is always a good thing to have.
We've had a bunch of meetings with the stake president here, as well as
our branch president, because they are actually really worried about
the area here, and so they've decided to pick up their game, and
actually help us. Honestly, we saw so many miracles this week. not a
lot happened, but in that little that did happen, God poured blessings
over us.

Stiven, is a youth that is 12 years old, when we first met him, he
said he wanted to get baptized, but when his uncle got home from his
mission. in 2 years. so that was a bummer. but we have been supporting
his decision, but also helping him learn the things he needs to.
yesterday, after sunday school, he asked us to talk to him, and he
told us that he wanted to be baptized as soon as possible. God let him
know that NOW is the time. he will be baptized the 6th of sept :)

Also, Jimena, the daughter of a member, has a goal to be baptized
before I leave as well, but she says she needs to have a better
relationship with her mom, and not get angry with her family so fast.
she says she needs more patience. so she and her mom made a deal that
when she can do that, she can get baptized. hahaha
I was like, don't
worry we all go through that phase. I'm sure I've been worse than
you are. So don't worry, you will see a change if you try to change.
and she's really excited to be baptized.

We also got a reference from a member yesterday. and he showed up to
church alone because the member that was gonna bring him was sick. He
showed up, really likes the church, and is really open to learning
more. he accepted a date to be baptized the 13 of sept. and he has a
desire to change his life around, and during gospel principles class,
he was answering all the questions, and was asking questions when he
had them. He's golden. and he stopped drinking coffee already. which is
a lot easier for us. haha

We started looking for more inactives to bring back to church, and we
were in an area that we havent ever been to, and we started knocking
on doors, asking if they knew one of the members, and we got to one
house, and they said, yeah he lives here, but he's not here right now,
but you can come in and share something with us. We were like, uhhh ok
cool. we can do that. They aren't members, only the brother of this
person is. and when he got back, he told us that he hasn't been to
church in about a year and a half because nobody really visited him or
had any friends. His brother that we were talking to before, was
like, hey these missionaries are really great, lets go to church, I'll
totally go with you..... we heard a lot of crap about that area, the
people saying that no body will even look at you if you aren't
Catholic. But look what happens when we actually make an effort, and
not listen to the dumb things that people say.

I've gotten a lot of advice from many people for my last few weeks
here, and the thing I get out of it, is work my hardest. Love the
people. and give it all I have. And the Lord will bless me. I can
already see those blessings and I'm not gonna stop. I know the Lord has
prepared people for me to meet and help them come unto Christ, and
that's what I will do. And as long as I have the spirit, nothing can
stop us!
Acts 26:18
love ya long time.

August 18, 2014

The first baptism in a year happened on Saturday here
in San Rafael. It was realllly funny. He doesn't have a leg, so he was
really nervous about being able to get out of the water after they
dunked him, so they had to try it 5 times. hahahahah SO FUNNY. But it
was good. hopefully it wakes this branch up a little before I leave...
Actually we had a nice chat with the stake president and the branch
president. and honestly, we had to talk really straightforward and
strong with the branch president cause nothing has changed in the 6
weeks I've been here. Hopefully things start happening. We had
our first branch council yesterday and it was nice to let them know
what needs to happen so they can actually be a ward and not a branch
for the rest of its existence. Which has happened for the past 28
years.

Anyways. on Tuesday I saw some youth from Liberia, and they
were ones who never ever ever wanted to go on a mission, and they
actually turned their papers in this past week. I was sooooo happy.
how a heart can change with a testimony :)

We had a nice reunion of hermanas and we talked about how we should
work, but along with that learn, and all together, we should have fun.
They tied it into the Christlike attributes, and how we can
develop diligence, humility, and love if we apply the other 3
principles into missionary work. It was cool. I realized that I
have a lot more to learn, but I need to work my hardest, but as well
have fun. I'm always doing that, but I have a lot more to learn than
anything. hahaha

We had a multi zone conference with president this past week, and it
was really awesome, I always love conferences with president. what I
learned out of it, is that God is our leader here and we we should
trust in him. and we shouldn't complain because this is the work of the
lord, and we have leaders for a reason, to teach us and guide us, and
how we are called of God directly. through prophets and apostles. I
honestly love the mission and its such a sacred calling, and I couldn't
be any more happy for this time I have here. It's tough, but all I need to
do is trust in the lord, and he will help me through. but we can also
apply to our lives, that he will help us through it, if we just trust
in him. and do his will.

We met a nice girl named Maria. She has A LOT of family
problems, and is definetly looking for the truth, and honestly I could
feel a spirit about her. all she needs to do now, is accept the
message that we have for her, and trust in God, and her life can
change :)

I've got a new comp. from Cali. her name is hermana Carpenter. She's
really cool. I know we will get along really well :) she only has 3
months in the mish, but she has a strong testimony. I'm really excited
to see miracles here with her!
Acts 20:19-24,35

August 11, 2014

Welp. My companion went home. I'm with a mini missionary. Her name is
Flor. A youth who is planning on going on a mission and so we are just
doing divisions for 10 days until transfers. She's cool. She's Tica, and
it's kinda hard not having like a real missionary because we don't teach
like a companionship because she's not use to it, and she's kinda shy
still, but she's great. It's like I'm training again, but not really.
hahaha thank goodness for that.

Well we didn't end up having our baptism this week because the man was
drinkin coffee. Seriously, THEY ARE ADDICTED HERE!!! but we are
praying and fasting for this Saturday...

Ok. So not gonna lie. This area is soooo dead... they aren't ready for
missionaries here. The members especially. They act like we don't even
exist. I hope that this was just a trial run to see if they were
ready, but I think the area will get closed again. Because honestly,
the people don't recive us in their houses and even people on the
street when we just wanna talk to them, just shut us down. It's so
weird being in an area like this. I've never had this happen. But
seriously, it's been tough, and even Flor is super discouraged, she
thought it was gonna be a good time! HAHAHAHAHAH. welcome to the
mission, its TOUGH., But i love it.

Honestly, I don't know what else to say, I'm just not tryiing to get
down and discouraged because satan works even harder. D&C 29:39.
Hebrews 6:10
Here is the start of 6 weeks. I'll be home sooon. can't believe it!
I love this work, and this gospel, this has honestly changed my life.
thank you for all your support and words and love. God Bless you all :) xxooxox

16 Months, 21 years old. Partyyyyyyyyyy August 4, 2014

Hey there heyyy.
So yeah, thanks for all the birthday wishes, it was fun. I mean as fun
as it could get on the mish, but whatev. next year fooo shooo. or we
could just celebrate when I get home.

The branch actually threw a nice get together for me, we ate, and ate,
and ate... nothing new goin on here. but they are really nice, just
not the support that we need. Haha hopefully they'll learn soon what
service they should really help us out with. but I did enjoy the
little mermaid cake. Also my district leader let everybody know I was
turning 19 years old. Everybody was confused. We just let them be
confused.

I'm gonna tell ya a little story. The first day we got to our
new area, like a million years ago, I was talking to this lady, and
the bus ride was seriously like 2 hours long, so we pretty much talked
about everything. I shared with her about the gospel, obviously, and
left our number with her before we went our seperate ways, she said
she didn't have time to listen to us, but maybe one day. On my birthday
we were walking home, and I got a text message from a number I didn't
recognize. and it said "happy birthday and keep doin what your doing,
spreading the word of God, and he will bless you, you are great, and
thanks for your spirit". I was like, "hey thanks, who is this?" and
she was like "Gina from the bus the first day you got here". It honestly
touched my heart, first that she would actually remember my birthday,
and second that her heart is opening up. I know one day she will be
open to hear and accept the true gospel.

Also, I got a nice phone call last week, from my convert Roger in
Liberia. he was like hey happy birthday and guess what, I recieved the
Melchizedek priesthood on Sunday. I was soooo happy!!! he only got
baptized a month ago! He was so prepared, and he really understands
the power and authority he has as a holder of the priesthood, which
makes me feel so good about how the spirit works in each and every one
of us!

Seriously, even though we didn't have a lot of success this week with
my comp still being sick and all, I did see a lot of miracles... not
just here, but from my old areas as well.

Claudia from Concepcion, the lady that we were working with so that
she could enter the temple after like 15 years of not being able to
enter, she called me and let me know she got sealed to her husband
about 2 months ago, and wanted to thank me for helping her in her
spiritual needs durning the difficult times that she has had. And that
she goes every Saturday to the temple because she understands the
blessings that she can and will recieve. we cried together. she's the
one that reminds me of my mother :)

One night, before going home,  we decided to go to the super market to
buy stuff to make breakfast the next day, and as we were standing in
line, there was this man infront of me, and I caught him lookin at my
name tag, and I looked at him and smiled, and he was like, are you
elder? uhh no, I'm a sister, but yes there are elders, and he was like,
haha yeah I know, just kidding, I'm a member. but inactive, but you can
come visit me maybe one day when I have time, so just call me. I was
like, uhhh oh ok sounds good. he will come back, I know it.

ok, so every night when we have to call the elders to give our numbers
of the day, we like to tell jokes, and I'm gonna share one with you
right now. you'll die. I'm still dying.
"WHAT ANIMAL HAS 2 FEET THAT ARE GREY AND 2 THAT ARE BROWN???"
An elephant with diarrhea!! hahahahahah
you are welcome.

July 21, 2014 We are not homelesssss

OH MY GOSH THE SECRETARIES ARE ASKING ME WHICH AIRPORT I GO HOME TO.
What do I tell them, San Diego, Hawaii, or Las Vegas? ;) this is sooo
weird.

But anyways, we found a bunch of new people to teach this week, which
is a miracle, because the people are so hard hearted here, but it's
cool, the ones we did find are really open to hear us!

Finally we have our very own house! It's so nice and peaceful.
Seriously you can feel the spirit there, and there isn't any contention
like the other one, which was awful but now we are all good to go.

So we had a head choppin district meeting... seriously this zone needs
a lot of help, and I know that's why me and my comp are here, to help
them, first to be happy, and second to work hard. When I saw what the
goals were and what they reached for the week before, I was
devestated, and they were saying some things about, "those are just
numbers they don't matter" but I let them know what I felt and thought,
how behind everyone of those "numbers" is a soul we are trying to
bring to Christ, and if those "numbers" don't matter, then obviously
your brothers and sisters don't matter to you either. because yeah
sometimes its annoying when all the elders do is talk about "numbers"
but if they are doing it the way President wants them to, they are
doing in the way the Lord wants them to. I hope there was some changes
this week, for the better ya know. Because we are here to work hard and
to baptize and retain these people in the  TRUE CHURCH. We have a
really great district leader who is always willing to help.

ohhh my goodness, so I'm gonna end with a nice miracle. There is this 16
year old girl here in this branch, named Jocelyn :) haha anyways, she
got diagnosed with cancer when she was 15 years old. She's had a
ton of operations and what not... the first week that we got here she
got admitted to the hospital and they told her that she had to get
operated on again, because a tumor that she has is on her heart valve
and its a pretty risky surgery so she might as well say goodbye to all
her loved ones. when I heard about her, I was like freak, let's go to
the hospital and say hey, get to know her and what not. But noooo the
rules here are rediculous. we couldn't see her... but me and my comp
decided to fast for her. Her boyfriend told us that she was really
calm about everything and that the patriarch and another member went
and gave her a blessing. Last Tuesday she got operated on. and they
found NOTHING. They didn't find one tumor. Not even the one that they
had to take out. THE LORD WORKS MIRACLES. she has passed through so
much, and obviously she has somethings left to do here on earth, but
its all part of Gods plan, and what we choose to do before coming
here.
God really loves us, and looks over us and will do His work in His
time. We just have to have faith and move forward with whatever
difficulty we may face.

July 14, 2014 WEEEEEEKKKKK

Oh my heck. Let's just say my Christlike attributes are being tested
the most this week. Seriously. It's been rough. We found a house, but
the mission is having difficulties with the bank, so we have no
money.. so we are living in another area, and we have to travel back
and forth everyday. Some of the other hermanas really like to test my
patience and obviously I haven't learned enough to be calm about some
things... ( I BLAME THE BOERS) but seriously, it's been a bit
stressful.

The members here are really excited for us to be here! They were
takin us everywhere, showing us the area, where the other members
live, and givin us references. It was like, oooohhhhkaayyyy sweeeeet.
and they feed us a lot. Seriously I think I gained back the weight I
lost... it's awful. But so good! and its freezing here, so I think I'm
just getting prepared to come home to cold weather and it won't affect
me like it has here, I've been walkin around with a nice runny nose
and a fever from the climate change. its HORRIBLE.

We are planning for 3 baptisms by the end of the month already which
is nice, when people just go to church with out the pressure of the
missionaries. Because they can get baptized faster now! woot woot. The
branch president told us, yeah we already have investigators for you
that have been coming to church. haha ok sweet. oh, the branch
president got sustained 2 weeks ago, but he is a fireballlllll. He's so
ready to work. He's the BEST! He has been helping us out a whole lot.

I dunno, this week has just been full of ups and downs, but we keep
seeing miracles, which is nice, and the hand of the Lord here in our
area, especially with the members. it's incredible, because the elders
that worked here before, said it was really difficult, but I don't see
that, because it's not impossible, and maybe they are actually willing
and ready to work now.

Me and my comp gave talks in sacrament meeting. haha WELCOME TO OUR
BRANCH. Cool how they welcome us right. hahaha yeah I still get
nervous infront of a ton of people, but it went really well.

The people here are really different than the ones in Guanacaste, and
I miss it, but I know I am here for a reason, and I need to learn
something before I come home. So I'm just putting all my trust in the
Lord to help me, because that's all I can do. It may be difficult, but
it's not impossible, and that's how it's been for the last 15ish months,
just doing the Lords will and not mine, is a faith builder for sure!!!
The time goes by way to fast. and I've learned to make the most of
EVERY moment. I have no doubt that this is what I was suppose to do
for 18 months of my life. I know I still have 2ish months left but
before you know it, it'll be 1 left.... just letting you know!!

I pray for y'all everyday, and I know that y'all are watched over. Love all of
you!! Thank you for your support!!

July 8, 2014 New area=LOST

Yeah. I got changed to San Rafael de Heredia. in San Jose. Where it's
FREEZING, and we are both lost, because we are opening a new area, so
we have NO idea where anything is at. We are gonna set fire here.
I can feel it.  have a new comp she goes home in August, she's from Guatamala, she's 3
feet tall and her name is Hermana Noj. like NOCHHH. She gets my sense
of humor already, so we will work really well together I think. We are
just in San Jose right now cause we had to go to the office and get
everything figured out. Because we have NOTHING not even a house.
hahahah but no, we actually talked to the branch president today, and
he is really excited to work. he just got called as president, and
they haven't had missionaries there since December!! so crazy,. IM SO
EXCITED.

Anyways. stuff about my last area. that I miss already.... for our
zone we had 35 baptisms. the highest in the mission. woot woot!!! we
won breakfast from presidents wife :) it was delish.

David Archuleta came to our branch meeting. Bore his testimony, his
spanish is great, and his testimony is AMAZING. No I didn't get a pic
cause I was respectful enough, because it was Sunday. hahah he didn't
want them either, he got out of there before they even said AMEN for
the closing prayer! hahaha.

WELP Holland won.... it's not fun to celebrate when no body else is....
I thought the people here were gonna kill me when I was skippin
around. hahaha

Lemme tell ya, the 4th of July was awesome here. We went and
celebrated with hamburgers. and I made my comp wear red white and
blue. she wasn't happy about it.

We visited a couple that are inactive, and they have been
together for 10 years, but not married cause they didn't have money,
and they told us that they finally decided that they are going to get
married in August so that they can enter the temple with their little
girls. AND they promised to come back to chuch, cause obviously they
have to so that they can go to the temple. They said they were just
uncomfortable there cause they couldn't take the sacrament and felt
like everybody was judging them, but like we tell almost everybody,
that it's like a hospital, we go because we are sick. We need the
church cause we aren't perfect.

So we were with a member working with the branch list of people, and
we were calling them to verify their direction and what not. The member
called a lady and asked for her, but the person that answered said no
she died, he said "oh wow, it's because we haven't had contact with a
lot of people so we just wanted to make sure". and she was like, "yeah
she died 10 years ago". HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA WE WERE DYING!!!!! welp, ok
thanks. bye. hahahaha

We were visiting an area, and every house that we passed by said, HI
HERMANAS. I was baptized in the mormon church, but we don't go anymore.
hahahahah that whole neighborhood is members but only 6 people
actually go. We were like, are you serious? thank you Elders....
welp. time to get to work and find some people to teach!!!
love ya all!!
