Can I just say, that.... I LOVE DRINKING DRINKS OUTTA A BAG. yeah,
that's what they do here... NBD, it's like hey, can I have a fresco, and
they're like, "yeah sure, hold this bag open and I'll pour it in". and I'm
like,,, WHAAAAA!? seriously, I feel like such a cool kid doin it. We
will try it when I get home, so I can show ya how its done. I found
this out, cause we went visiting with a member, and she was like, "all
I need is a cold drink", and we were like "ok thats fine", so we went and
bought it, and she was like, "in bags please", and I was like, are you
kidding me, this is for real? It is for real, she says everybody does
it in Costa Rica, but I've only seen it here, so now everywhere that we
buy drinks, we ask for the bag. Its awesome.
We had a house check, from Hna Wilkinson right? so she walks into
our house, and she was like, THIS IS LIKE TAJMAJAL IN HERE! hahaha she
says we have the nicest house in the mish. and of course the cleanest.
so maaamm if you get a photo in your email from Alison, it's the
Presidents wife.:) but yes, I still know how to clean, don't worry, you
taught me well. (but only when I wanna do it) hhaha
We have an activity for all the women in the branch and our
investigators, and they call it zumba. yes, the workout video, when ya
dance... lets just say it gets really hardcore here, cause erryboy and
their dogs dance, and they told us to come so that our investigators
would feel more comfortable, and so we did and I was like,,,,,
uhhhhh,,, yeah, I'm white.. and so can't dance. I got a little
depressed. hahaha so my comp was like, we can teach you ok? yeah, ok
thanks....
My comp got a little depressed this past week, because at times she
feels like she is doing something wrong or something that bugs me, and
I keep telling her that if something was bugging me I would tell her,
cause y'all know me, I'm like straight up right, and she just felt like
that cause she's had all her comps that have done that until it just
builds and builds and then they just blow up in her face about it, so
it's a little sad cause she's so sensitive and trys so hard to be the
best example she can, and it breaks my heart when she feels a little
down, so I have to try and be my funny self, even though its hard,
cause I forgot how to. haha nah JK I make her laugh, cause I'm funny.
don't worry.
So we were teaching this Jehovas Witness lady and she was ALWAYS tryin
to put words in our mouths and prove us wrong with the bible and
stuff, and so we just tried to teach her in a way that she could
understand, with scriptures as well, and one day we went and visited
with her, cause her son is a recent convert and she has opened up a
lot, and she started reading this one book that they read if they don't
understand the bible and she said a whole lotta stuff that was so
incorrect with the gospel of Christ, and she just shut us up, cause
she was like, this is what I believe and don't want anything to do with
your church now, cause this book tells me otherwise. and I was like,
mayyybbbeeee you should ask God before jumping to conclusions with a
book... she got mad.. I kinda felt bad, but it just makes me sad when
people are just so gosh dang stubborn :(
We have this recent convert that has a sister, and she is crazy. like
mentally crazy. she wasn't like this before, but something happened and
she just went down hill from there.. but she's like really scary, like
I get scared when I see her, and everytime she sees us, she yells
ADIOS and we say adios back, and then like 5 seconds later she yells
GUUUAPAAAA. and I'm like, keep walking keep walking, I'm not guapa, I'm
not gringa, I don't have red hair.. hahahah it freaks me out, and now
when ever my comp leaves the room or something, I yell, ADIOS
GUAAPPAAAA. hahahaha its so funny...
The second councilor in the branch presidency, is like a member of
gold, seriously he is ALWAYS sharing the gospel with his friends and
people he meets. and one night we were walking home for the night, and
we saw him talking with his friend, so we stopped to talk as well, and
just happens that he wants to change his life around and wants to work
things out with his family and have happiness in his life, and I was
like, well here, tell ya what, read this Book of Mormon and get
baptized. he commited to reading the book, but still workin on that
baptism... hahah any ways, we called him the next night to invite him
to church and to see if he read, and he read for 2 hours!! and he
loves it and feels the spirit so strong when he is reading. and so
that was a little reassuring to know that people DO have a desire to
change, and that they DO recognize the spirit. i love it!!:)
The lady I wrote about a couple times, that we are teaching with
her girls,,,, her girls were SOO excited to go to church and they
prayed about the church and what we are teaching and they were like,
we know its true, we are really excited to learn more and be part of
this gospel, but we haven't been able to teach the mom because she just
got a new job and as well, her dad is in the hospital, so we stopped
by one day when we saw her outside of her house and she said she
couldn't go to church, but her girls were like, yeah come and get us!
That night, the mom sent a message saying that her girls couldn't
go to church for some personal dilegency that they need to work on...
its annoying when people won't let their children make good decisions
for themselves, satan is working hard on this family because they KNOW
that this is what they need in their life, and its hard... :(
Sooooo the big, dreaded day in the month of February, or of the year,
but whatever, FEB 14. was a pretty successful single awareness day.
Just partied it up with the hermanas and ate at our district meeting,
cooked heart french toast and they gave a cute little heart cards,...
well, on our way home, I found a wood sign in the street that says,
LOVE, and I was like, hey I got an idea... it was a little late, so
all the cool stores were closed, so we decided to make some yummy
salsa and chips and surprise the hermanas when they got home. so we
did. SCARED THE CRAP OUTTA EM. soooo funny. We hid in their room, and
when they got home, they opened the door, and almost started crying. I
almost died. But after that we enjoyed it. hahaha we get a good laugh
outta it, and now everybody tries to scare us.
I got to give a talk in church yesterday... again.. yaay for
me... it wasn't too exciting, just talked about how our friends can
know about the gospel and I was like,,,, uhhh duhhh, share it maybe?
haha and then all the missionaries, we have 7 in our branch, we gave
the lesson the last hour block, and we recived 15 REFERENCES. Just me
and my comp... honestly, this area is about to blow up into mormons.
A lot of the members want to share the gospel and the people that they
give as references are so accepting to recieve it!
Today we went to the beach again. At freakin 5 in the morning! it
takes about an hour to get there, and the elders wanted to go fishing
before the tide went out, so we did.. they couldn't find any bait, so I
started catching the tiny fish with my hands and they were like, OH
SHOOT HNA BOER GOT SKILL. haha and then after that, they started
catching blow fish. it was sweet. haha I have some really sweet photos
to send y'all. It was a good day on the beach, we played volleyball and
got to watch the sunrise. its sooooo pretty!!
I just wanna share with you, ALMA 7. honestly, it amazing and I'm so
grateful for the Atonement of Christ in our lives, because without it,
we wouldn't be able to return to our Heavenly Father.
Gotta develop those Christlike attributes, and be a better person, no
matter how hard it is, show love for those that have hurt you.
